Autonomy - A layered semi-solid hand dyed yarn
Autonomy is a 100 gram skein of hand dyed yarn. It is a layered semi-solid that is a bright and cheery green with subtle hints of yellow-green and blue-green.
I was inspired to create this colorway after seeing Romi Hill's new design, Autonomy Cowl.
I will place a link below to her website and you can read about her inspiration and the reason for the color green. She expresses this much more eloquently than I can. I knew after reading this, I had to knit this pattern and wanted my own green colorway which I aptly named Autonomous.
Her design has a lace pattern (very doable - I am not traditionally a lace knitter) and I didn't want it to get lost by knitting with a variegated yarn. However, I didn't want a single colored semi solid. I feel like it deserves more than that.
I chose to layer a turquoise blue with a bright yellow. This produced a beautiful bright green with little hints of yellow-green and blue-green. Enough differences in color to make it fun to work with, but not enough variation to take away from the pattern.
